My Favorite November makeover…

I went picking with my son and found this table.  It looked like someone tried to do something with it and then changed their mind.  It had a lot of wood filler in the top which is why I chose to paint it with Annie Sloan chalk paint instead of staining it.  Here is what it looked like before:

I really had a hard time picking out the colors.  I knew I wanted the details to pop out. I decided to go with Primer Red and Chateau Grey.  I did this color combo on a smaller owl table but this table had so much more area to cover and many more details.  I wanted bold color but I didn’t want it to look like it belonged in a circus either.  I second guessed myself a few times until I got to the wax.  The wax always makes me feel so much better, the clear wax adds shine and then the dark wax adds depth.  Together, they both seem to really make the piece look complete.  I lightly distressed it so you could see the red peeking through the grey.  I love how it turned out.

This table can be found and purchased at Serendipity Home in Boyertown along with some of my other pieces.  They are having a Grand Opening Event Friday December 7th thru Sunday, December 9th.  Click on the link for store hours and check out all the other chalk painted furniture and vintage pieces that are available.
